Sausage and Egg Casserole

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 pieces of bread (any kind you have on hand)

  • 1lb. sausage (any kind, but I like sweet Italian chicken sausage)

  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 6 eggs*

  • 2 cups milk*

  • 1 tsp dry mustard*

  • 1 tsp salt*

 
 

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Tear up 4 pieces of bread into a greased 13x9x2 baking dish. Brown the sausage in a skillet and drain. Sprinkle the sausage over the bread. Sprinkle the cheese over the sausage. Beat together the eggs, milk, dry mustard, and salt. Pour over mixture in the baking dish. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Enjoy!

The above recipe is a basic version. Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, onions or more meat (bacon, etc.). Adding other cheeses, tomatoes, basil, or any other ingredients you love will be delicious. The sky is the limit!
