Grilled Flank Steak

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5-2lb. Flank Steak

  • ½ cup olive oil*

  • 1 ½ tsp. Kosher salt*

  • 1 ½ tsp. black pepper*

  • ¼ cup brown sugar*

  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce*

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar*

  • 5 cloves garlic*, minced

DIRECTIONS

Combine the marinade ingredients in a large zip top bag. Close the bag and gently toss the marinade to combine.

Place the flank steak in the bag with the marinade. Press out any excess air and seal the bag tightly. Massage the marinade into the meat with your fingers. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat grill to 450 degrees. Grill steak for 5-7 minutes per side (longer if you like your steak more well done). Allow the steak to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Serve the steak, sliced, over a fresh green salad (see my website for salad dressing and topping ideas). I also like to broil slices of French or sourdough bread, topped with butter, salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic powder. Enjoy!

Wine Pairing

Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir

Kid Version

My kids love this steak! I serve them a piece of bread and veggies (steamed broccoli, peas) on the side.
